Herman Rijks is the company's Chief Executive Officer and one of the two founders of ChemUnity.com. He is 38 years old with more than 10 years experience in the chemical industry. After graduating as Master of Science at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands, Rijks gained experience in North-, Central and Latin America and in Europe, managing various market leading chemical distribution companies. He also set up successful green-field operations in Bolivia and Romania for Holland Chemical International, a leading distributor of chemicals and raw materials on a global basis.

Mark-Jan Terwindt is Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of ChemUnity.com. He previously managed several chemical distribution companies in Central and Latin America for Holland Chemical International, a leading distributor of chemicals. From 1998 Terwindt was involved in the acquisition of Crest Chemicals in South Africa and guided the integration of this US$ 50M and 180 employee company into HCI. Mark-Jan is 36 years old and holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Nijenrode Business School in the Netherlands.

Before joining ChemUnity, Erwin served as Commercial Manager for various chemical distributors both in Europe and Central and South America. Previously he founded and built BIC, a leading Dutch Information Broker, specialised in gathering strategic business information using on-line databases with a strong focus on international markets. Erwin is 33 years old. He is a graduate from Emory University in Atlanta, where he received an MBA degree and he holds a BBA from Nijenrode Business School in The Netherlands.

Sjourd Wijdeveld joined ChemUnity in January 2001. Within ChemUnity he is responsible for the realization of new Products and Services and Alliances. Prior to ChemUnity Sjourd was co-founder & Business Development Director in an e-Procurement ASP and co-founder & Business Development Manager in a SAP e-business consultancy organization. After receiving a BA degree in Logistics (specialization Supply Chain Management), Sjourd started his career in 1997 at Akzo Nobel, where he has been involved in SAP, Supply Chain Management and e-business projects within several Chemical and Coatings business units of Akzo Nobel.

Eugène Fierkens joined ChemUnity.com BV as Controller in July 2000. Prior to joining ChemUnity.com, Eugène served as Controller of Brambeza BV, one of the players in the Road Construction and Engineering Works Industry in Holland. In 1997 he successfully started his own international trading company in consumer durables. Fierkens previously served as Financial Manager of AMCO Holding BV, a dutch based international producer, specialised in the development of trim & form and moulding machines for the back-end industry in semi-conductors. Before starting his professional career as Management Trainee and later as Manager of one of ABN AMRO Bank's departments within the mortgage division, Eugène finished his Bachelor Degree Program in Financial Administration in 1992.

Dennis Eijkelboom joined ChemUnity in July 2001. Dennis is responsible for maintenance and development of ChemUnity’s web-applications. Prior to joining ChemUnity, Dennis was building technical and financial client-server applications for one of the largest private HVAC companies in the Netherlands. After 8 years of practical experience as an application developer in the legacy applications field, Dennis made a turnover to Internet related development and design. After a short side-step into the Internet design world, his experience now ranges from rich front-end design to complex back-end integration using the latest technologies like J2EE, .NET and XML. Adding up to a total of 10 years of practical experience makes him a central point for ICT development within ChemUnity.

Having spent 12 years with Hays chemicals in a variety of positions, Mike Hall joined ChemUnity as Country Manager for the UK. Starting in sales, selling the full range of packed and bulk chemicals and solvents, Mike moved on to product management, where he had responsibility for the range of Chlor Alkali products manufactured by Hays, along with other Inorganic chemicals. His most recent role was in sales management, where he was responsible for commercial development in the North of England. Mike has a BSc. Honours Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of West Lancashire.
