Does ChemUnity support Reverse Auctions? |
|
| |
No. In a reverse auction, suppliers are confronted with the (decreasing) bids of other -anonymous- suppliers. This sometimes leads to aggravation with suppliers to the point that some have decided not to participate anymore. ChemUnity focuses on optimising existing business processes rather than on introducing new business processes (such as reverse auctions, purchase aggregation, commodity pits, etc.). This way we avoid additional stress on the buyer-supplier relationship, allowing for win-win situations. [Note: reverse auctions DO sometimes make sense, for instance for large volume negotiations in a "buyer’s market"].
