Finding your way in the "Conferences & Seminars jungle"
Organizers of events in the e-business and chemicals arenas have undergone the same turbulent times as the actual markets they cover: in the past three years quite a few new names have appeared while others have been forced out of the market.
Traditionally these conferences and seminars have been organized by the established magazines such as Chemical Week with their yearly "e-chemmerce" event, focusing on the ROI of e-business projects.
One of the most successful newcomers is Eyeforchem with their large-scale "e-Business in chemicals" event that attracts hundreds of delegates yearly. This year’s event has three parallel tracks covering CRM, XML and Distribution Strategies.
Coming in at a very refreshing angle is Smart Chemicals Forum that organizes well-attended brainstorm events where industry executives pick each other’s brains anonymously using little wireless computers. These events are free for industry executives.
On the chemical side, a steady constant in all this commotion are the well-established PetChem and Chlor-Alkali events organized by Tecnon-Orbichem. These events analyze the market trends of specific product groups in great detail, including historical perspectives and long-term forecasts.
From a broader e-business angle, take note of the "e-Commerce Summits" organized by Dotcom srl every October in Rome where one can see the chemical industry’s initiatives in the light of other industries.
