Like others in the e-business environment, our ChemUnity is constantly learning about how the Internet can best add value to existing business processes. We are building our strategy on the following fundamentals:
Long-term, existing relationships between business partners play an essential role in the chemical industry. So rather than getting between buyers and sellers, companies like ChemUnity add most value by helping to web-enable those relationships: we are a tool rather than an intermediary.
While many suppliers of chemicals have invested heavily in sell-side e-commerce solutions, most buyers have yet to decide on their e-procurement strategy. One thing is becoming increasingly clear however: with the proliferation of sell-side solutions more and more buyers are looking for a single "window to the wwworld".
Before the summer ChemUnity will launch an expanded suite of pragmatic e-sourcing tools focussing specifically on the needs of buyers of chemicals.
