Last year we visited more than 1500 companies across Europe, which gave us a great insight into the complexity that buyers of chemicals are faced with in their daily activities. Their feedback has formed the basis of our recently launched Sourcing Portal. Several hundred purchasing professionals have already subscribed to this innovative tool, which allows buyers to streamline day-to-day communication with their suppliers.
In recent years many companies, particularly those using chemicals, have invested substantial amounts of money to optimize their company's processes and automate their internal supply chain. The Sourcing Portal has not been designed to replace these systems but rather to complement them. It supports buyers in activities not yet captured by their legacy systems, communicating digitally with their suppliers. Because integration of systems is a critical issue, ChemUnity is currently running the first pilots with customers to connect their ERP systems with the Sourcing Portal using Esperanto's XML based application.
The first phase of the Sourcing Portal went live on July 2nd as planned, and on July 23rd the next wave of new functionality has been released, which allows customers to electronically request quotes, negotiate and confirm purchase orders with their suppliers.
Yours sincerely,
