ChemUnity chooses Esperanto's connectivity technology to link to its users

Arnhem, The Netherlands - November, 2000 - ChemUnity.com, Europe's leading e-market for commodity chemicals, has signed an agreement with Esperanto, the world's leading supplier of innovative B2B connectivity software to implement Esperanto's "eCommunity Builder" to enable various levels of integration with the IT systems of ChemUnity's users. This step towards fully integrated procurement solutions will greatly enhance the degree of automation that both Buyers and Suppliers can enjoy using the e-market.

"After looking extensively at various connectivity-software providers, we chose for Esperanto because of the broad spectrum of connectivity that they can offer. Besides linking to the well-known ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, etc., we need easy integration with a few hundred other systems that are typically used by our smaller buyers. Some of these companies work with little more than an amalgation of spreadsheets or with antiquated legacy systems and we where impressed by Esperanto's integration capability in such scenarios", explains John Kerkdijk, CTO of ChemUnity.

"The exiting thing is that we will be able to start by automating small steps in the supply chain, such as automatic call-offs or order-confirmation entries. Then as the needs of users grow, we can follow up with other steps such as order tracking, payment, etc.: it's very moldable to the clients wishes and budget", explains Mark-Jan Terwindt, the co-founder and CFO of ChemUnity.

"We are very excited to have been chosen by ChemUnity as the enterprise-wide software solution for their end-to-end connectivity needs. Esperanto solves ChemUnity's marketplace integration problem by providing seamless integration or document exchange. We have proven to be able to do this from absolutely ANY application, no matter what ERP, CRM or legacy system is used. Supporting both the modern XML varieties as the traditional EDI and flat files," says Nico de Jong Senior VP Sales & Marketing of Esperanto.
